Unfortunately no mention of how the eggs are processed, how many, or whether there are other foods that also included breakfast. On the first day and last week testing period, each participant was given lunch. Researchers also measured how hunger or fullness before and after breakfast and lunch, by recording how many calories are consumed at meals. Researchers took blood samples to determine levels of ghrelin, a hormone that stimulates hunger, and PYY3-36, a hormone that signals satiety. The researchers found that people who ate eggs in the morning to feel more full before lunch and they also eat less food than participants who ate the cereal. Participants who consumed eggs also had lower ghrelin levels and a higher number of PYY3-36 for three hours between breakfast and lunch.
