Drinking milk after weight training exercise

Drinking milk after weight training exercise proved to be more effective to build muscle burn fat at the same time compared with consuming energy drinks that contain sugar.

The results are published in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise. Several previous studies found that men who drink milk after exercising their muscle mass increases and fat decreases.

To determine whether the same thing also occurs in women, the research team conducted research during the previous three months which has never done resistance training. Two hours before their sport should not be allowed to eat and only drank water.

After running a routine exercise, respondents were divided into two groups, the first who drank 500 milligrams of white non-fat milk and the second are those who received sugar-based energy drink.

Resistance exercises or training conducted by resisting a particular style may not be the preferred type of exercise by women, but benefits from the exercise of this kind is very much.

"These exercises increase bone strength, muscle and metabolic way that can not be done other types of sports," said Stuart M. Phillips, PhD, kinesiology expert from Canada.

"We were only expecting an increase of greater muscle mass, body fat reduction was too high. It is shocking," said Philips.

He added, experts do not know the cause but suspected a combination of calcium, high protein and vitamin D, which is contained in the milk be the cause.

The women who drank less milk experiencing weight gain because it increases muscle mass balanced with the reduction of body fat.
